Destination Bend Wedding done right at Rock Springs Ranch!
From the moment Mal inquired I knew that her primary focus for her wedding was family, and creating an intimate setting with all the people that she loves most. She and Isaac had made a stop in Bend once before and said to each other this is where we’re going to get married one day. I was elated when I got their inquiry and got to read about their story on their wedding website and I instantly felt like these two were gonna be my friends forever.
WEDDING DAY PRIORITIES
On their wedding day in Central Oregon I was pleased to meet all six of her siblings, and a very tight getting ready space, it felt a little bit like Christmas time with the kiddos. I am sure that all the big families out there are used to having their bubble being popped when everyone is gathered together for a celebration or holiday. They navigated the tight space with ease and fit more people into one cabin than I knew was humanly possible.
I’ve never seen so much emotion from parents on their kids wedding day, and I truly was holding back tears the entire day.
Here were a couple of ways that Man and Isaac created spaces for their family members to feel special on their day.
- Mal had three of her older sisters help her get into her wedding gown.
- Mal’s mom and dad got a first look with their baby girl before she went to go see her future husband.
- Isaac had a picture of his dad on the inside of his tie and had a mama bracelet for his mom.
- All of the kids were included in family photos, because that is something that’s been very important to both Isaac and Mal — Getting to be aunties and uncles, and parents one day to their own.
- Then there was the first dance with their parents. Isaac and his mom did a salsa dance because she is a professional dancer. And Mal and her pops danced to the song he had danced to with all of his daughters before. Yup, we all cried.
Regardless of how people view a wedding day to be, make it your own. These two stuck to their guns and it was the funnest wedding I had been to probably all year long. It was full of energy, full of college teammates, family, love, and is everything that they could’ve dreamed their wedding day to be. So if you were looking for ways to include your family members to feel special on your day, take note from above.
